ABOUT THE FILM

Knocking Down the Fences is a documentary about AJ Andrews, the first woman to win a Rawlings Gold Glove, and her struggle to make it as one of the best professional softball players in the world.

AJ (Ayanna Jeanne) Andrews is a professional softball player known for making spectacular diving catches in the outfield. In 2016 she was the first woman to be awarded a Rawlings Gold Glove, an award given to the best fielders in Major League Baseball — and now to the best fielder in the National Pro Fastpitch softball. Since receiving the Gold Glove while playing for the Akron Racers, AJ went on to play for Scrap Yard Fast Pitch, LLC in Houston. She is a frequent guest on ESPN’s The Undefeated.
